First Half
The first half of “Double Ismart” offers a blend of high energy and varied entertainment. Ram Pothineni shines with his usual charisma and intensity, making the film engaging. His performance is especially dynamic in the “Steppamaar” song, where his dance skills and energy steal the show. This song stands out with its catchy music and impressive visuals, boosting the film’s excitement. On the other hand, Ali’s comedic scenes feel a bit off from the main story. While meant to add humor, his jokes sometimes seem out of place, which can disrupt the film’s flow.
Despite these small issues, the first half still has its appeal thanks to Puri Jagannadh’s unique style. His signature touch, with bold dialogues and dramatic moments, adds a special flair to the film. Puri’s ability to create engaging scenes keeps the audience interested, setting up high expectations for what’s coming next.
Second Half:
In the second half of “Double Ismart,” the film unfortunately doesn’t maintain the momentum set by the first half. The extended length of Ali’s comedic portions feels excessive and disrupts the narrative flow. These segments might have worked better with a tighter edit, as their overextended presence tends to detract from the film’s overall coherence. Despite these issues, Ram Pothineni remains the film’s primary strength. His performance continues to be a saving grace, bringing energy and charisma to the screen, and effectively anchoring the film amidst its shortcomings. Kavya Thapar also delivers a commendable performance, adding value to the movie with her engaging presence.
However, the direction by Puri Jagannadh seems to falter in the latter part of the film. The narrative struggles to keep the audience engaged, and the storytelling loses some of its earlier charm. The climax, featuring Sanjay Dutt, has been criticized as a low point, with his performance not meeting expectations. The overall impact of the second half falls short of what was hoped for, with the film failing to capitalize on the strengths established earlier.
